It has come to our attention that some of our customers have received a letter from “Freddie White of Grant Thornton (Gibraltar) Limited”, the liquidator of Enterprise Insurance Company Plc.

Enterprise Insurance, who were the underwriters of consumers Deposit Protection and Insurance Backed Guarantee policies, entered liquidation on 26th October 2016.

The liquidator for Enterprise Insurance is obligated to issue a letter as standard notice to all policy holders, however, Kensa has been made aware that in some cases the liquidator has inadvertently included the name of the installer of the product insured which was underwritten by Enterprise Insurance. We have been informed in some cases that the installers name, i.e. Kensa Heat Pumps, appears in the address section of some letters, leading to confusion as to who the letter is addressed and what it is regarding.

The notice from “Freddie White of Grant Thornton (Gibraltar) Limited” refers to the underwriting of workmanship insurance policies which includes but is not exclusive to heat pump systems. Customers should rest assured that the notice about Enterprise Insurance does not affect their ground source heat pumps’ workmanship insurance validity, which is still protected by The Workmanship Guarantee Scheme (GDGC) and Kensa’s warranty.

Kensa Heat Pumps would like to reassure you, and for the avoidance of doubt, that the letter from the liquidator is in no way connected to the solvency of your installer nor indeed Kensa. As detailed in the liquidator’s letter, at this time, this does not have any effect on your policy and in the event you need to make a claim you would be able to do so in the normal way.

The Legal Administrator of Enterprise Insurance has provided the following statement:

We apologise for the wording of the letter received from Grant Thornton, which was simply to advise you of the liquidation of Enterprise Insurance.

Please be advised that your policy is not affected by the liquidation, and remains valid and in place.

The policies are in relation to the workmanship carried out regarding the home improvements on your property (these could be windows/doors/solar panels/ insulation etc).
