Trent & Dove Ground Source Review - Kensa Contracting with staff & residents - The Carters

11th June 2015, Pirelli Stadium, Burton Upon Trent

Trent & Dove Housing and Kensa Heat Pumps will be taking housing associations on a journey to combat fuel poverty with heating system upgrades at a one-off event at the Pirelli Stadium on the 11th June 2015.

Following their own recent ground-breaking retrofit heating upgrades programme, which featured the replacement of electric night storage heaters with Kensa ground source heat pumps in 133 rural homes, Trent & Dove Housing will deliver a project blueprint and off-the-shelf package which attendees will be able to use to improve their own housing stock, with the reassurance of a proven and well defined fast track programme and support network.

Steve Grocock, Director of Property Services at Trent & Dove Housing comments:

With the support of our contractors and Kensa Heat Pumps, Trent & Dove has achieved an outcome that many housing associations dream of; halved tenant energy bills, halved CO2 emissions in our stock, improved tenant health and well-being, and £2.3m of income through the ECO and RHI (this scheme has now closed – please visit this page to explore other funding) to off-set our £1.8m investment – and all of this in just 3 months.

At our event on the 11th June, we will share exactly how we did this with our peers, so that they can take forward the benefits of our scheme throughout their stock, transforming the lives of their tenants and providing a significant return to the social housing provider.

Co-hosted by Kensa Heat Pumps – the manufacturer and installer of the ground source heat pump systems, which were retrofitted into bungalows over 15 Trent & Dove sites over three months ending April 2015 – the free event will be further supported by J. Tomlinson, Encraft, GeoDrill, the Carbon Savings Alliance, and the National Housing Federation, with a keynote speech from NHF Chairman, Lord Taylor of Goss Moor.

The event will provide the social housing provider’s perspective on the drivers, challenges and process of retrofit heating upgrades, together with advice from industry experts on the incentives encouraging the adoption of renewable technology in social housing to combat fuel poverty and lower carbon emissions, to allow attendees to copy Trent & Dove’s successful formula.
