Ground Source Review: Barton Grange Garden Centre & Marina

Barton Grange Garden Centre & Marina is a flagship development for the Barton Grange Group of Companies, situated in a strategic position on the A6 lying on the outskirts of Preston.

The clients brief was to embrace current renewable technologies available to demonstrate their commitment to the environment and provide a sustainable heating solution for their facility.

As well as the Garden Centre and 80-berth marina, this development also includes a chandlery, restaurant, garden park and crazy golf course and hotel.

Kensa Heat Pumps supplied two 50kW Commercial Plantroom ground source heat pumps connected to 20 x 50m long slinkies buried into trenches underground.

Kensa worked successfully with Ameon, the M&E consultants specialising in renewable technologies, to provide a solution to the client which has enabled them to meet their project objectives, by reducing their CO2 by approximately 30% when compared to gas.
