Four brave members of the Kensa sales team have successfully completed the challenging Shoreline Triathlon in Bude, North Cornwall, in under 1 hour and 30 minutes respectively.
Sales Manager, David ‘Linford’ Billingsley, Technical Sales Manager, David ‘Brownlee’ Broom, Commissioning Engineer, Darren ‘Bolt’ Veal and Sales Administrator, Daisy ‘Ennis’ Hornsby all took part in the event which involved a 400m open water swim in 4-6 ft swell, a 12 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Daisy’s time of 1:16:19 put her amongst the top ten female competitors.
The fab four, who work in Kensa’s Exeter sales office, had been training for the event for 3-4 months, even going for regular 3 mile runs on their lunch breaks! Kensa provided state of the art cycling kit to the participants to help the team be comfortable during their challenge.
Commissioning Engineer Darren Veal said:
Having done the triathlon in the past, I thought it would be a great team-building exercise for the sales team, (not to mention a rewarding physical challenge!), and I managed to convince three of them to take part this year. We all worked really hard to get fit and things got quite competitive in the office with everyone wanting to get a good time! It was a fantastic day and I’m very proud of the team for the fact that we smashed the 1 hour and 30 minute target we set ourselves!
The team times were as follows: Daisy Hornsby – 1:16:19, Darren Veal – 1:18:41, David Broom – 1:21:45, David Billingsley – 1:27:42
