Ground Source Review: Together Housing, Elland, Halifax
Together Housing and Kensa Contracting replaced storage heaters with Kensa’s Shoebox ground source heat pump in two blocks of 60 flats in Elland, Halifax. The ground source heat pumps will be connected by a Shared Ground Loop Array This will provide tenants with a heating solution that is three times more efficient than their previous storage heaters, allowing them to save £195 per year on their heating and hot water bills. The housing association will benefit from income through the Renewable Heat Incentive (this scheme has now closed – please visit this page to explore other funding).
Jon Schofield, the Delivery Manager (Energy) is looking forward to seeing the programme fully rolled out commenting:
Ground source heat pumps will give greater comfort and ease of use for Together Housing customers. After a successful pilot, I am excited to see a full programme roll out, making residents lives easier.
