Guidance before you install a heat pump

Questions answered at any stage

Get advice regardless of your stage – whether you’re considering a renewable heating system, set on investing in a heat pump or you’ve already started planning your heat pump project.

Decide if a heat pump is suitable

Priding ourself on professionalism and MCS accreditation, it’s our responsibility to assess whether or not a heat pump is the right fit for your project. Factors like insulation and heating demands determine how efficient or economical a heat pump could be for different properties.

Advice for anyone and everyone

Anyone from homeowners and architects to specifiers and consultants can access our free expert and technical advice on a potential heat pump project.

Guidance on how it works

Kensa’s commissioning engineers can talk you through the specifics of your potential project and what to consider along the way.

Identify potential heat sources

Get advice from Kensa to make sure you’re harnessing energy from the best possible heat source – from a nearby water source to your back garden.

Support with system design

Receive reassurance and technical advice on the correct heating system design, pipe sizing, and ground source heat pump sizing.

Schematics

If you need help with the correct system layout and sizings, Kensa can use your dimensions, rough project plans or drawings to create a schematic for your heat pump project.

Commissioning the heat pump

A Kensa commissioning engineer can remotely commission your ground source heat pump over the phone – or even attend site if necessary – to make sure your ground source heat pump is correctly installed in accordance with MCS and Kensa’s high standards.

Training

If you’re a competent installer looking for practical advice on how to install a heat pump, we might encourage you to attend a free one-day training course, or make use of our MCS Umbrella Service.
